An exhibition of paintings by Jim Laurino, featuring stunning landscapes during all seasons.

Artist Biography:

Jim began painting at a young age and initially focused on ma rine subjects. receiving basic instruction by marine painter Carl G. Evers. He eventually studied design, color theory and painting at the University of Connecticut. Through additional workshops and self-study, Jim has cultivated a unique representational painting style that balances the impressionists' influence with contemporary and traditional subject matter. Jim is primarily a plein air painter, and most of his studio work is based on studies done directly on-site.

Jim constructs frames for all his paintings. The frames, which are made from reclaimed materials, fashion a window into each piece, subtly complementing his paintings. Offering varability in color, finish, and design, the frames expertly pull a point of interest forward for the viewer. Jim's paintings are in numerous private collections in the United States and overseas. He exhibits locally, and recently received top prize for his entry in the Granby CT Land Trust Art Exhibition in November 2012, and won a Piedmont Award for his entry in the Somers CT cultural exhibition in September 2013.

Jim and his family live in Burlington, CT and he works out of a studio in his home.
