Research services for genealogists, students and scholars make the collection, archives, library, historic house and Memento Mori cemetery available for study. The archives contain approximately 4,000 items, including books, journals, pamphlets, ledgers, letters, photographs and currency. The research library contains over 1,000 titles covering decorative arts, trades, social history, architecture, and local genealogy. Books may not be removed from the library.


The Dr. Kenneth G. Johnson Research Library is open Tuesday-Friday, 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. and Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 – 4:00 P.M. A phone call or email to the museum in advance of your visit is appreciated.


Databases of the collection, research library and Memento Mori cemetery headstones are available for research. Use of the collection for research is by appointment only.
